School of Music, Film, Broadcasting and Creative Industries
Music, screen, broadcast and visual production taught to release standard. Students finish with finished work — tracks, films, podcasts, editorial — and an understanding of the rights and money that surround it.
Courses in this school
10 of 10Music Theory, Performance and Songwriting
A musician's core training: theory that explains what you hear, technique that delivers it, and a disciplined songwriting practice. Students leave with a recorded body of original work and stage-ready performance skills.
Music Production and Sound Engineering
Studio-craft from first idea to finished master: DAW fluency, synthesis, sampling, arranging, mixing and acoustics. Taught through weekly production assignments with critique on real finished tracks.
Artist Management and A&R
The business side of an artist's career: development, deal structures, release planning and long-term strategy. Students build a real development plan for an artist, including financial forecasting.
Recording, Mixing and Mastering
A focused engineering programme for those who already produce: tracking technique, advanced mixing decisions and mastering as a craft. Every module is assessed on finished audio, not on written theory alone.
Music Publishing and Intellectual Property
How songs earn money and who owns what: copyright, publishing splits, collection societies and licensing. Practical and contract-literate, with real royalty statement analysis.
Film Production and Direction
End-to-end narrative filmmaking: development, directing performance, cinematography, sound and post. Students complete two short films with full crew roles and finished deliverables.
Screenwriting, Acting and Performance
A dual craft programme for writers and performers who need to understand each other's work. Writers complete a shooting script; actors complete filmed scene work and a showreel.
Television and Digital Broadcasting
Multi-platform broadcast production: live studio operation, field production, streaming and audience strategy. Trains for both traditional broadcast and creator-led digital channels.
Journalism, Podcasting and Media Presentation
Reporting, interviewing and audio storytelling across written, podcast and on-camera formats. Strong emphasis on accuracy, verification and law, alongside a complete published portfolio.
Photography, Fashion and Creative Enterprise
Visual production for fashion and culture: photography, styling, direction and the commercial structures that make creative work pay. Culminates in a self-produced editorial shoot and a business plan.
